FastSoft Targets CDNs 1 Gbps

FastSoft Targets Large Enterprises, CDNs with 1-Gbps Internet Acceleration

Solution Makes Internet Viable for Centralized Distribution of Rich Media Anywhere in the World

PASADENA, Calif., September 9, 2008 – The newest addition to FastSoft’s E Series Internet accelerators allows companies that create, sell and deliver content to centralize and speed Web-based distribution of video and other digital assets. Requiring no regional caching and no equipment where download requests originate, FastSoft’s patented FastTCP ™ technology enables global enterprises and CDNs to accelerate content downloads to customers, employees, the media and other audiences anywhere in the world.

FastSoft’s new E 1000 delivers 1 Gbps capacity to speed content delivery by three to five – and as much as 30 times – making the Internet a more viable means of monetizing and distributing video, CAD files, software upgrades, and other rich media for subscription and VOD services. Along with not requiring any technology where download requests originate, the FastSoft E Series is the only solution to offer end-to-end acceleration including the first and last miles as well as through the cloud.

Centralized Acceleration Unlocks Value of Public Internet

“The FastSoft E Series makes it efficient to use the Internet for distributing video and other rich media content on a global scale,” says Ron Westfall, Research Director, Access and Applications at Current Analysis. “Having a centralized solution gives enterprises the ability to migrate manual distribution to the Web, while content providers and CDNs can extend their market reach without incurring the costs and delays inherent in network build-outs.”

The E 1000 enables companies with Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings to deliver video and other rich media content more cost-effectively. Content and content delivery providers can sidestep issues associated with regional caching while still delivering rich media quickly to the end-user.

E Series uses FastSoft’s patented FastTCP ™ technology developed by the Caltech team created to overcome the limitations of TCP, the predominate Internet transmission protocol. A single E Series device installed where content is served can decrease transfer times globally allowing companies to maximize existing investments in bandwidth and data centers.

Centralized distribution using the FastSoft E Series allows content and service providers to expand their reach and speed time to market in new regions without costly build outs of local PoPs. CDNs can also reduce operating costs, address content that can not be compressed, and avoid the complications of local data replication.

Pricing & Availability
