Software Test Engineer

Job Description

Be a friend to our customers and a “foe” to our development team! As a Software Test Engineer, you must be comfortable “breaking” things. Your job is to never allow FastSoft to ship an inferior product. You are the gatekeeper to ensure our customers have the best experience.

The Software Test Engineer must have both an adversarial and friendly relationship with the development team. You are an adversary in trying to break products that seem to work. As the same time, however, you must lend a helping hand to the developers in providing the necessary steps to reproduce and isolate problems so they can be fixed. The Software Test Engineer is responsible for building and verifying the correctness of all automated test infrastructures and scripts, developing and executing regression, functional, and performance test plans, and documenting steps to reproduce every bug. The ultimate goal for a Software Test Engineer is to eliminate manual testing!

Job Requirements

* Strong knowledge in writing automation scripts in Linux/FreeBSD/Windows
* Skilled in Python and sh. Knowing C would be a big plus.
* Ability to clearly communicate – a key quality to being a superior developer
* Strong hands-on knowledge with TCP/IP network products
* Creativity in breaking things that usually work
* Experience in configuring network services such as sshd, Apache, ftpd, etc.
